The Myotis Rally will run again in 2011 on 30th April/1st May as a navigational rally with a route of over 100 miles. These will be on roads that have either been built to "all weather" standard on Salisbury Plain or conventional lanes that mostly have no habitation. Again, it will run as a round of the ASWMC championship.
In the 1980's this was an all night stage rally using the smoothest roads on Salisbury Plain. Last year we translated that concept into a modern navigational rally which was appropriate to the time of year, locality and resources currently available to most motor clubs.
We have listened to the feedback from our competitors. In particular, sections will be less in number but much longer, route definition will be less challenging and we propose a move to a computerised results service.
Our aim is to run an event for you in Southern England which generally sees few road rallies and the route is planned such that the general public and police will give you and us no hassle! We will be introducing a considerable mileage on roads that have recently been built or repaired and some that are still under construction! Entries will be welcomed from Road Rally, Endurance and Historic crews
