Myotis Rally
In the 1980's this was an all night stage rally using the smoothest roads on Salisbury Plain.
We have translated this into a modern navigational rally that is appropriate to the time of
year, locality and resources currently available to most motor clubs
It will start from Devizes on 1st May 2010 with a route of 120 miles, of which at least
65 miles will be timed to the second. These will be on roads that have either been built to 'all
weather' standard or conventional lanes and that mostly have no habitation. The route will be
defined by map references
and some diagrams with inspiration from the endurance rally
concept. In fact, endurance crews should find the event very much to their style. All transport
sections will be 'relaxed' with no penalties except OTL.
The organisers' aim is to run an event in an area of Southern England that
has not seen a rally car for ages, having particularly noted recent
comments in MN regarding the number and location of authorised events
in England and Wales. They sincerely hope that the event will go unnoticed
by the public but will be enjoyed by all competitors.
